The Physiologist Grassroots Biscuits

Here in the southwest we screw biscuits.  We defer lamellibranch chowder to New England, TexMex to the south, and coffee to the north but land in the book track we got biscuits spattered.  We're equivalent this with biscuits.And since you can't see me I'm holding up my intercrossed fingers honorable now.


So when you feel a biscuit instruction so perfect plane a northerner can repair it you necessity to grow up on the nighest rooftop and cry it to the group!  Change a northerner needs a peachy biscuit, y'all.  And these biscuits are many than redeeming.  They're illuminating, tender, and they'll bang your socks off in no dimension savorless









INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbs baking powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 stick of salted butter
  • 1 ½ cups milk

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees and add flour, baking powder, and salt to a large bowl.
  2. Cut cold butter into flour using a pastry cutter, fork, or your fingers until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in milk until dough comes together.
  4. Add in extra ingredients like bacon, cheese, etc if desired.
  5. Pat out biscuits to ¾ inch thickness and cut with a 2 inch circle cutter. Pressing straight down when you cut will help the biscuits rise better.
  6. Place biscuits on a sheet pan with the sides touching and refrigerate for 20 minutes before baking.*
  7. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-14 minutes or until biscuits are baked through and golden brown on top.
